Immigration guidance

We've been in touch with heaps of people since we started our blog and website. Many are looking to emigrate to New Zealand and it's great to hear their stories and help with questions. We now have information in the Immigration section about guidance in several key areas (none about NZIS or legal!!)

Immigration story

Angela and Don started the process of emigrating to New Zealand in January 2005 with a trip to the country. They didn't expect that the holiday would be the start of any process, but for many immigrants this seems to be the case! Once you come here, you just fall too far in love.

Our story takes you from January 2005 through July 2006 when we actually got on a plane and left our home for a new country. The story is told in parts and goes through in detail the immigration process and what we did to prepare ourselves and our cats for a big move half way across the world.

The story is long, we know. But we felt that we would have appreciated having someone's story to read when we were in the middle of good and bad days to encourage us to keep going. So thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy it! Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
