Two Americans emigrate to New Zealand from Colorado,
USA.
We talk about
our life in Nelson, New Zealand.

During our last seven weeks we were completely busy every single weekend doing something to prepare for the move. So we started our goodbye parties pretty early, with a few here and a few there. Each work held goodbyes for us, with Don’s wonderful staff giving us a gift of a Visa card that helped us get through the final weeks in Colorado, and my office giving me the most lovely necklace and pendant.
There were many tears all over the place, especially saying goodbye to parents and close friends. Angela’s father and his wife Linda and pooch Champ drove down from Washington on one of their adventure expeditions and showed up at a goodbye party, a really nice surprise. Her brother Mark and his wife Katrina also came south from Washington a few weeks later for a visit to Angela and then off to Santa Fe to see her mom.
A few months prior we mailed out a letter to the extended group of friends and family sharing a bit of our story along with our news. Most everyone emailed us to say “stay in touch” and that was the birth of our original blog.
We simply would not have been able to make all of this work without the support of moms and dads and our friends John and Star. Each helped us out in a particular way, all excited to see us take our adventure, but also sad that we’d not see each other for awhile.
But plans have been discussed for visits through the coming years, and it will be so wonderful to see everyone venture off to New Zealand and come visit the place we love so much.
